Kids Discovery Factory has been contracted through the Ripley County Community Foundation, a recipient of the Indiana Department of Education's Explore, Engage, and Experience Grant, to visit 29 schools in the Southeastern Indiana region.  Through a grant from the Decatur County Community Foundation this opportunity has been extended to schools located in Decatur County as well.

Eligible schools will receive one no-cost visit from our Mobile Factory between September 2022 to May 2024Mobile Factory consists of 10 STEAM based exhibits that focus on expanding students’ access to pathways leading to high-wage, high-demand careers, in an open ended and engaging way.

Mobile Factory operates in 45-minute-long sessions, accommodating up to 100 students per session. Kids Discovery Factory's Mobile Factory will only stay on site for as many sessions as it takes to accommodate all students. (Example: School Enrollment 250 = 3 Sessions). Most schools will be able to have all of their students visit in one school day, those with an enrollment over 600 will generally have to book a 2nd no-cost day to accommodate all of their students.

If your school is interested in booking Mobile Factory for ADDITIONAL evening sessions to accommodate a Family STEAM Night on the day of your school visit, contact our Program Director for pricing.

The Explore, Engage, and Experience Grant was created earlier this year by the Indiana Department of Education to provide career exploration and engagement in elementary and middle schools, in addition to hands-on experiences in high schools that support students as they choose a path of employment, enrollment, and enlistment leading to service.  To assist in expanding high-demand, high-wage career pathways in Southeastern Indiana, Mobile Factory exhibits will focus around two pathways: Heath & Public Safety and Construction.
