Kids Discovery Factory is honored to be the recipient of the $2,000 Women’s Giving Circle Fall Grant. We are grateful for the Ripley County Community Foundation’s support, allowing us to develop and launch a new program focused on bringing STEAM experiences to the region’s youngest learners.
KDF recognizes the impact of early childhood education on a child’s future, which is why we are developing an Early Childhood Playgroup for children ages birth to five. The Playgroup will provide young children and their caregivers opportunities to discover STEAM concepts through exploration of age appropriate exhibits and by experiencing developmentally appropriate programming at their own pace.
Beginning early 2022 the Playgroup will meet weekly at the Kids Discovery Factory building at 110 Sycamore St. During the Playgroup hours caregivers will be encouraged to play and explore alongside their child; allowing them to scaffold learning experiences and develop a stronger bond. Programming topics will explore play invitations that help children develop physically, cognitively, and emotionally.
As we plan for the launch of the Playgroup, we are looking for input from the community to help us develop an exciting and impactful program. If you are the caregiver of a child ages 5 and under, please fill out our short survey: https://forms.gle/4tYxGBunS3LQ8BDH9
